Iron Maiden favorites

To kick off Iron Maiden week here are two simple questions.

What is your favorite Iron Maiden album?

What is your favorite Iron Maiden album cover or covers? (This includes covers of singles as well as lp covers)

My favorite album is the Number of the beast.

My favorite album covers are Powerslave, the Trooper, Live after death and Aces High.

Coming up Monday will be my review of Maiden's Killers.

I've never been such a huge Iron Maiden fan, but the first two albums - the self-titled debut and "Running Free" - remain favorites.

That also goes for the cover of the debut album. When it came out, it was surely something else. I had it hanging on my wall for ages. Let me see if I can dig up some old pics of that wall.

Cheers!

I'd have to say my favorite cover is Piece of Mind and my favorite album is Somewhere in Time.

My favorite Iron Maiden album is Piece of Mind. I don't know what it is about this album but, to me, it is the true sound of british heavy metal. The sound just blows me away and the songs just kick ass, even the filler tracks. I wish Maiden would play Still Life live! That would kick my ass!

My favorite cover is probably Somewhere in Time. The detail is amazing and I love all of the hidden stuff on the cover. You don't get that anymore in these days of CDs. Another reason to miss vinyl.

Heh, I didn't even consider all of the Single and E.P. covers. I liked Run to the Hills, where Eddie is fighting the Devil in hell. Women in Uniform was cool too, where Eddie is walking down the alley with two girls and Margret Thatcher is waiting to kill him.

Somewhere in time has a great cover and it is possible that the back of that album is better than 95% of the front covers of other albums that came out at the time.

My son is an amazing rock guitarist. He will be BIG some day, and buy me lots of stuff!! Yippeee!
Iron Maiden was never on my play list at any time in my life. But, an album cover that I like is that one with a baby angel on the front smoking a cigarette. I think it was an Arrowsmith or a Van Halen cover.
My son knows all this kind of stuff. I am just a 42 year old mom who likes groups like Toto, Boston, Queen, and Kansas. I don't know squat about heavy metal, but I get a kick out of Ozzy Osbourne.
Thanks for dropping by my blog!
Enjoy what's left of your weekend.

Favorite album: Number of the Beast. I can't imagine choosing anything else, even though I love so many others.

Favorite cover: Powerslave. But I have to put in a shadow vote for Brave New World. What a fantastic idea, and good execution. I must have looked at that cover for hours and compared it to the current skyline.

(And Metal Mark -- great point about the back of Somewhere in Time, which was my first and [almost] my favorite Maiden album).

This is gonna be a good week.
