That gives Deep Purple a 7-5 lead. That makes it possibly one of the closest battle of the bands I have had this year. I think Kiss beat AC/DC by a two vote margin in the very first battle of the bands. All of the others have been decided by larger margins.Metal Markhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18400759786407810475noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13852175.post-1158714539949493982006-09-19T18:08:00.000-07:002006-09-19T18:08:00.000-07:00Hey Mark, I hope I'm not too late, but I would vot...Hey Mark,

I hope I'm not too late, but I would vote for Deep Purple. I know the Scorps did it sometimes too, and I know they rocked the Monsters of Rock in 88, but for sheer power, it's Purple.Ray Van Horn, Jr.https://www.blogger.com/profile/13614522170335864253noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13852175.post-1158612512064373882006-09-18T13:48:00.000-07:002006-09-18T13:48:00.000-07:00I think the score is currently Deep Purple-5 Scorp...I think the score is currently Deep Purple-5 Scorpions-4 Recipes-1, hey, who threw that in there? Put 8 Tablespoons (1 Stick) butter in deep baking dish and place in oven to melt. Mix 1 Cup sugar and 3/4 Cup self-rising flour; add 3/4 cup milkslowly to prevent lumping. Pour over melted butter. Do not stir. Spoon fruit on top, gently pouring in syrup. Leave out the syrup if you want a dry cobbler. Still do not stir; batter will rise to top during baking. Bake for 35 to 45 minutes.

JimJimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07948285006605333380noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13852175.post-1158596037805778522006-09-18T09:13:00.000-07:002006-09-18T09:13:00.000-07:00Two words: Ritchie. Personnel changes may have scarred their legacy a bit but many of their albums are creations of perfection. Yes, their later albums have been very good, especially their last one RAPTURE OF THE DEEP.

The Scorpions have been around since the early 70s. Their early albums (Virgin Killer, Lonesome Crow, etc) get forgotten because of their MTV/headline success. Take a listen to TOKYO TAPES to get an idea of how great they were with Uli Jon Roth on guitar.

Now look at their success from 1979's Lovedrive (coinciding with the NWOBHM and the resurgence of U.S. Metal) thru Crazy World (1990), an amazing run of platinum records and radio hits. I was a young pup when I heard 'The Zoo' on radio and saw 'No One Like You' on MTV. They were huge in the 80s/early 90s. They get a lot of junk for being a "ballad band" because of the major success of 'Wind Of Change'.

I'll vote Scorpions.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13852175.post-1158587489039847732006-09-18T06:51:00.000-07:002006-09-18T06:51:00.000-07:00Both were/are influential, both are solid, great b...Both were/are influential, both are solid, great bands.
