What are you listening to?
What's coming up?
This week I will finally have my review for Dream Theater's Octavarium out. It is about halfway done at this point. I will also have a review of the Sword's Age of winters. Tomorrow there will be another round of the Lunchtime game with a new set of metal musicians to choose from. Other than that I am not completely sure what else I will write about this week although I do have a few ideas bouncing around.
Hurricane - Slave To The Thrill
ReplyDeleteRunning Wild - Rogues en Vogue
Southgang - Tainted Angel
Jaded Heart - Helluva Time
I also got Whitesnake's and Judas Priest's new DVDs. Awesome.
Disturbed- Believe
ReplyDeleteSRV- Greatest Hits
Tool- Aenima
Nine Black Alps
ReplyDeleteThe Cribs
White Stripes
Johnny Cash
huh... that's odd.
Talking Heads
ReplyDeleteMinutemen
Caesars
Neko Case
Brazzaville
Rage against the Machine: Renegade
ReplyDeleteKorn: Greatest Hits Volume One
Metallica: Ride the Lightning
Staind: Dysfunction
Kiss: Love Gun
BTW Bruce, Tool was much better when they were Green Jello. LOL
Elvis Costello, My Aim Is True
ReplyDeleteU2, War
U2, How to dismantle....
Bruce S, Darkness on the Edge of Town
Emmerson, Lake & Palmer, Brain Salad Surgery
When you review Dream Theater, I hope you'll address the fact that the intro to "Octavarium" sounds eerily similar to Pink Floyd's "Shine On You Crazy Diamond." The first few times I heard it, I almost thought it had switched CDs and I was hearing some slightly modified version of PF.

ReplyDeleteFinger Eleven-Finger Eleven
Dream Theater-Octavarium
Van Halen-Woman and Children First
INXS-Switch (surprisingly good)
Rough Cutt-Rough Cutt Wants You
-- david
David- I don't know Pink Floyd so I wouldn't know that. I am struggling with my review because I trying hard to be objective. I should judge this album on it's own merit, but as with the three previous albums I keep comparing them with Images and words and Awake and they are coming up short.
ReplyDeleteOh, glad to see I am not the only one who likes Rough Cutt. They may not impress at first, but they grow on you.
Tumors grow on you, too, so that's a mixed phrase ...
ReplyDeleteBut as I've said before, I enjoy Shortino's voice and find Rough Cutt to be at least in the top half of hair metal bands. And I credit you for letting me know about the re-release!
