20 years from now

Iron Maiden are due to have a new album out later this year. I think they are highly regarded and have had a great career. However I think that they are only really highly regarded in metal circles. my question is how will Iron Maiden be remembered 20 years from now? By that time will their skills be enough for them to be highly regarded in rock circles or will their legacy only live on in metal circles?

  1. I think that they were never mainstream (very little airplay), so they won't be remembered by as many people outside of the metal circles as maybe they should be.

  2. I think that their influence on bands that HAVE crossed over into more mainstream rock will probably ensure them a solid place in rock history.

    That, and Eddie.

  3. The number of bands influenced by Maiden will insure their legacy to all rock.

  4. IRON MAIDEN will be remembered and honored as long as heavy metal is.

  5. I will touch on this topic a little more when I write about the importance of Iron Maiden on Saturday. Friday will be my review of Brave New World as we close in on the end of Iron Maiden week.
