Concert shirts

I used to have a bunch of concert and band shirts when I was in high school, but I got rid of most of those over the years due to outgrowing them or just needing the space. I have aquired some new ones in recent years and wear them all the time, well not at work, but I do wear them at home. My brother was up for a visit recently and he looked at the Lizzy Borden shirt I was wearing and said "I thought you grew out of that stuff" and I responded "Why would I want to do that?". Anyway the favorite band shirt that I currently own is a Van Halen shirt I bought in the mid 90's. It has the logo from the first album on the front and Eddie's white guitar on the back. Probably the oldest shirt I have is a Metallica shirt from 1988. Do you or did you have a band or concert that you liked above all of the rest?

  1. I had a Scorpion's 'Virgin Killer' T-shirt that got me sent home for a day. It was swiped from me a few years later. I would love to get another one.

  2. I had an Erasure shirt that I wore out, completely. I'm slightly embarrassed to admit that.

The other day, though, I saw a kid walking around with a Dead Kennedys shirt on...I wanted to beat him and take it from him. :-)

I have this Morbid Angel, Altars of Madness shirt from 1991 that I'm still hanging onto. It's probably my oldest shirt and it is so beat up that I can only wear it around the house.

I used to have this awesome Slayer shirt that said, Slaytanic Wermancht(sp?). I think that my mom threw it out because she was terrified of it.

  4. I had a black RATT shirt with a skull head in white and red bone wings underneath it. I wore that shirt all the time. All I used to wear were concert shirts......that is until I made the fatal mistake of grabbing the bleach instead of the laundry detergent and ruined all of them in two seconds flat!!! I could only save a couple, a Whitesnake shirt and a Scorpions shirt from 1988. They both became holey within the next two washes and fell apart.

  5. I had a Last in Line concert shirt, black and red, cut the sleeves off and the bottom to make a perfect half shirt, to go with my jean cut-off shorts and no shoes - my summertime "uniform". I'm sure my Mom thought I looked like "trash". :)

My favorite was the VH/1984 concert shirt. The scissors didn't touch that one though!

  6. My senior year of college someone stole several of my shirts from the laundry room. My Slayer-Reign in blood shirt, my Wrathchild America shirt from when I saw them in 92, my Aerosmith shirt from when I saw them, a longsleeve Hendrix shirt and my Ratt-Detonator were all stolen.

  7. I still have a KISS shirt from the Crazy Nights tour. I remember the one vicious steve had, but mine is just a picture of the album cover and on the back it says "I WENT CRAZY WITH KISS." The one I wear the most, though, is from the '96 reunion tour at Madison Square Garden.

  8. Nope, I didn't have have any concert shirts, but I did have a KISS one with the big logo on the front when I was younger.

Too bad you had all those shirts stolen. Those things are irreplaceable.

  9. I was actually proud of my Jethro Tull concert t-shirt ... because nobody else dared to wear one to Metalica shows.

I saved all my concert t-shirts from back in the day. It would be hard to pick a favorite, but 2 stand out....my Motley Crue muscle shirt from shout at the devil with the big pentagram on the front...and my Rush t-shirt from Grace Under Pressure...the logo would glow in the dark..hey, at 16, I thought that was pretty cool!
