Upcoming changes
Starting around the beginning of September I will probably be posting a little less. Please don't run away because by little less I mean that I will likely be posting every other day instead of daily. Except during theme weeks when I will probably post 5-6 times during the week. I have been trying to post daily since the beginning of the year. It's just getting hard to find time to keep up that pace and sometimes I post just to put something up and I should really take more time. However I am not slacking off because I plan on trying to put more effort into what I do write. Also I am soon going to start work soon on my top ten metal albums of 1986. I will explain more about that in August. I am already looking forward to 2007 and I will probably do away with some features like Battle of the bands and From the pages of Hit Parader and replace them with new features for the new year. Suggestions are always welcome.
Mark, many bloggers only post once a week. I'm amazed that you can come up with so much stuff to write about! I think that this is the only site that I read that has new content every day.
ReplyDeleteditto!
ReplyDeleteHey Mark, that's cool. You've been posting really consistently.
ReplyDeleteSometimes the easiest posts are the one's where you ask what we're listening to, or......
I just thought of one !
A list of albums by a particular band, and we have to pick which one we think is the best from their back catalogue.
i.e
Kiss
Maiden
Judas Priest
Sabbath
etc etc
Fred-Thanks. I think Fuzzbox and Jim are the only two that I read that are daily or almost daily.
ReplyDeleteOnmywatch. Thanks.
Mimi-That's good to know. I was writing this blog about six months before someone I didn't know commented on it.
Ben-I have been doing a few more shorter ones. Actually I did ask about favorite albums by artists. I think I did three days worth of them back in the spring. I don't think I have done favorite album covers by individual bands so I may do that some time soon.
Hell, I have trouble thinking about what I'm going to have for dinner tonight. I admire your sticktoitiveness in your posting. Keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteI sympathize - finding the time can certainly be hard ... with all of life's obligations getting in the way. We'll still be around however.
ReplyDeleteI would actually prefer the every-other-day-or-less posting pace because I find it hard to keep up with your posts now! I've been doing better at it, but I can't always check out your site every day or even every few. So no worries, I'll be with you no matter what.
ReplyDeleteI'm the only dumbass insane enough to decide to ratchet UP my posting. Perhaps it won't last ... I guess it depends on if people seem to enjoy it.
You have no worries. You have a unique site that we will be coming to even if you post once a month.

Vicious Steve-Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI really have to think ahead to have topics to post everyday.
Bruce-Thank you.
Will-Yes, it's hard some times to find time to write, check it and specll check it. I have learned to be a little less wordy than I used to be.
David- Thank you. I will keep up the daily pace for August and then cut down once September rolls around.I think it may allow me to write more stories from my past which may be good or bad, I am not sure.
Good call! I often feel an obligation to post when I really don't have anything of quality to write and therefore that conflicts with the integrety of the blog. Post whenever you feel you should, and that way only the best will come out. Blogging is a hobby not a job.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous was actually me as I guess I forget to log in.
ReplyDeleteJeff-You are absolutely right. I think I try posting a lot for fear of losing momentum or becoming lazy. Yet after doing the blog for more than a year I don't think that I will forget it or lose interest just because I cut down. I need to concentrat on quality not just quantity.
Better to have fewer quality posts than to have a bunch that you're forcing. Either way, you're doing a hell of a job!
