Can't keep up with new releases

It seems like I buy very few new releases anymore. Not because there aren't good albums coming out, but because of lack of funds and there are so many past releases that I am still trying to track down. I just learned yesterday that Faster Pussycat released a new album a few months ago although it seems to have received a number of less than favorable reviews. I also just found out that Bang Tango released a new album although I think it is just singer Joe Leste as the only original member. I also just found out that former Kix member Brian Forsythe was in Rhinobucket and played on their new album which I also have yet to hear, but it has gotten good reviews. Krokus have a new album out and it is getting generally good reviews so I may have to track that down as least.

  1. I did not know that Rhinobucket had a new one out. I will have to go check it out.

  2. Good luck! This is a battle I struggle with daily! Virgin Black have 3 new albums coming out in the new year at the same time, that'll be a chunk outa the pocket. And I too have been digging back for some classics. Thank God for storage bins and ipods, or I think my marriage would have ended.

I have a few CDs on my list. I want to get:

    The new Melvins
    The new Isis
    The new Amon Amarth

As you can see, I can't remember the titles of any of these CDs. There are probably a few more but I can't think of them.

I have a list that grows everyday. I just bought the Krokus, Paul Stanley, and Angra new releases today. I'll have to catch up after the new year when everyone waits for the summer to release.

  5. Fred, all three of those albums are incredible. Isis and Amon are making my top 5 year-end for the mags and I just saw the Melvins live...holy shit, dude, they played their asses off.

I got sent the promo of the new Krokus and I think I'm getting an intie with Storace. The album is typical, nothing new whatsoever, but still pretty listenable if you stay in context.

That new Angra album is also really damn good, Rhode. I loved the one prior to it as well.

  6. I had no clue about Bang Tango. They had that different, bluesy bass-centered edge that set tham apart a bit. I'll have to keep my eyes open.

  7. David-I went ahead and won a copy of the new Bang Tango on ebay. I will review it here once I get it. I think it may not actually be due out until Halloween, but you can order it from Perris records online or Metal Mayhem is selling multiple copies on ebay.
