Grand Stinker
This is going to be a follow-up segment to "Lesser of two evils". I have done four "Lesser of two evils and plan on doing six more this year. Then in December I will take the albums by the ten losing bands and rate them. I will use a rating system with five categories and a scale of one to ten. Then I will do a post where I will show the scores of the ten ten losing bands and the one with the lowest score will get the title of "Grand Stinker'.
Sounds cool. Except, I find it kind of funny that you keep coming up with new ways to bash the music....
ReplyDeleteaxe man-It's rating not bashing. Someone will finish at the top and some will finish at the bottom. I do Lesser of two evils to re-evaluate bands I have not heard in a while. Some sound better now, some sound worse and some are about where I remember them.
ReplyDeleteaxe man - I like your enthusiasm, but I think you would do well to be a little less positive sometimes. A balanced view will show that you don't just have a knee-jerk reaction to everything. I admit that I am generally negative about hair metal, but I do have some positive things to say. Across a broader spectrum, I have a lot of positive things to say. Mark's view is fairly balanced and it gives greater credibility to both his positive and negative opinions.
ReplyDeleteMark - I think this idea is brilliant. It reminds me of the old "Stinker of the Week."
I like the idea too. It's a good way to reflect on lost albums. Not eveything can be positive all the time. When a band puts out a stinker, I like to know.
ReplyDeleteOr might we say "Grand POObah?"
