Somehow I have managed to keep this blog going for two years as of today. Thank you for reading and writing comments because your input makes it easier for me to continue doing this. Like last year I am going to give you the option of...
A) either asking me a question
or
B)make a suggestion on how I could make this blog better
***On Friday Reunion Album week will continue with a review of Deep Purple's Perfect Strangers.
Thank you Metal Mark! I am just glad that I have found a place to chat with like-minded oldschool metalheads. Last night I caught a few minutes of the documentary "Metal: A Headbanger's Journey" so maybe a discussion of metal related docs, movies, etc. would be interesting. Also, I am looking forward to the upcoming Heaven and Hell/Alice Cooper/ Queensryche shows. It would be cool to hear about people's concert experiences. I am new to the blog so sorry if you have already discussed these topics in previous months. Rock on Rock Soldier! Here is to another year.
ReplyDeleteHey, congrats! Our blogiversaries are just mere days apart...I started my blog on June 17, 2005. We've beaten the odds! I read somewhere that the majority of blogs are abandoned after like 6 months.
ReplyDeleteHere's a question, in honor of one of those shows I always see replayed on VH-1. What was your least metal moment? (Either on the blog or in your every day life.)
Mark, I think you do a great job on this blog and it's been fun getting to know you. Keep on going pal.
ReplyDeleteCongrats Mark. Keep doing what you're doing.
ReplyDeleteCongrats Mark! What you're doing is working so don't change a thing!
ReplyDeleteYou ROCK!
Hi Mark,
ReplyDeleteHappy Blogiversary!
Keep doing what you are doing! I check out your site daily, although I don't always comment.
Hopefully we can do some more adjoining features like March Metal Madness. That was cool!
Keep Rocking!

Bill
ray- that's an excellent documentary; head and shoulders above "Decline of Western Civilization: The Metal Years", IMO.
ReplyDeleteMark- just keep doing what you've been doing.
ray gillen, rip-Actually Decline 2 is the only metal documentary I have seen and I wrote on that at one point. If I see anymore then I would love to write on them.
ReplyDeleteBeckeye-Most non-metal moment? I bought my wife an Enya cd for her birthday a few years back because that's what she wanted.
Captain Corky-Thanks.
Rockdog-Thanks.
Hard rock hideout-I would like to do another writing project with you.
Rock of ages-Thanks.
Bruce-Thanks.
It's sad when some blogs just dry up as at least six blogs on my blogroll have stopped posting over the last few months. On the positive side there do seem to be more music related blogs going then there were saya year ago. So that's a good thing.
Hay...Happy Anniversary...This is a great blog. Don't ever stop!!!
ReplyDeleteMark - Great job, your site is always an interesting daily read. Keep it up! I agree with Rob from Hard Rock Hideout, let's do another feature like March Metal Madness.

Mark: I've enjoyed this blog if not from the beginning damn close. Great stuff.
ReplyDeleteMy only suggestion comes frm my fear of you burning out like so many of our colleagues have in the past two years. Although I love the posts every dday, I'll recommend cutting back to three or four times a week so that you can focus better on the posts you do put up and not feel pressured.
Just something to consider. I'd rather have less Metal Mark than no Metal Mark, and blog fatigue DOES set in eventually.
And I'd love to do another multi-post review or commentary like we did with Ben in early 2006 on Spinal Tap's "Rock and Roll Creation."
Thanks for a great two years.

Great work and congratulations!!!
ReplyDeleteYou are doing a fantastic job Metal Mark! Keep up the great work!
ReplyDeleteJanet-Thanks.
ReplyDeleteSteve-I have an idea for another joint writing adventure. I will contact you soon.
David-I was burning out about a year. However now I do take 2-3 days off a month. I have also added features like What's coming, Heavy Metal Jukebox, Over/under and Judge the album cover which allow me to write short topics maybe twice a week. So that has helped make it doable for me to post fairly regualarly. The theme weeks tend to be the hardest time I have because I shoot for doing four reviews in a week.
I would like to write with you again. Let me know if you have any ideas.
Earl-Thanks.
Axe Man-Thanks.
Happy second birthday, you're doing a great job, one of the few blog sites I make a point of regularly vivsiting.
ReplyDeleteHow about neither and just accept my bestowment of congratulations for keeping a very consistent blog going.
