I like it enough. The color scheme really helps it. LA Guns were initially helped by the G-n-R connection, but they always lived in the shadows of it too. The fact that they have had over thirty band members and currently have two versions of the band only helps to make them look like a joke.
I always liked this cover. Cool, simple, captures the era. At least it is not some cheesy group shot that instantly dates the album, ala Dokken's "Under Lock and Key."
in the grand perspective, it's mediocre, but I like L.A. and Hollywood in the distance between the barrels of the pistols, which makes its statement loud and clear
It's a poor man's GnR cover which is appropriate for LA Guns. I didn't mind them, but in reality they weren't much better than this cover.
ReplyDeleteSolid. It's nothing great, but it's simple and easy, just like the music. Good call, Bob.

ReplyDeleteSimple, but clever at the same time. It works for me.
ReplyDeleteIt is eyecatching. A very clean design. I like it.
ReplyDeleteI just picked up a copy of this on CD again recently.
I really liked the raw grittiness of this album. Sex Action...Electric Gypsy...Bitch is Back...cool tunes!
ReplyDeleteI love it! Very cool...
ReplyDeleteEh. Boring.

ReplyDeleteray-You are right about that Dokken cover. I hope someone burned those outfits.
ReplyDeleteThe guns could use some work. To me they are the make or break of this album cover and they don't quite measure up.
ReplyDeleteMetal Mark - I assume that Dokken returned them to the Liberace museum. I actually like 80's Dokken, but that cover practically ruins the music.
ReplyDeleteIt is corny, I don't like it.
