Heavy Metal Jukebox
The year 1987 was a great one for hard rock and metal. The scenes were exploding and there were a number of fine releases. Here are your song choices...Anthrax-Indians
Guns -n- Roses-Welcome to the jungle
Whitesnake-Still of the night***Which one do you pick?
It took me three attempts to post this because Blogger kept kicking me out. By the third try I was rushing to get it done and incorrectly had it listed as "Judge the album cover" for hours. Sorry about that.
ReplyDeleteI'm going with Anthrax! GnR would be my second choice and I'd prefer not to hear Whitesnake.
ReplyDeleteBob may not want to hear it but i'll take Still Of The Night anyday :-)
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the Jungle isn't my favorite GNR song, and Indians isn't my favorite Anthrax song ...
ReplyDeletebut Still of the Night reamins my favorite Led Zeppelin song of the late 80s!
(Sorry, I couldn't resist.)

I'd say Anthrax - Joey's voice was a bit weak in it, so David and Axl will have slaughtered him. But overall I like the song most.
ReplyDeleteI'm with ROA and David - Still of the Night, but that could be since I'm a huge Zep fan.
ReplyDelete1. Still Of The Night
ReplyDelete2. Welcome To The Jungle
3. Indians
It's hard to pick against G-n-R here, but far easier to pick against Whitesnake. So put me down for Anthrax.
ReplyDeleteThis is easy. Whitesnake. I've heard "Welcome to the Jungle" one too many times.

I say Anthrax simply because it's a cool song that wasn't overplayed.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the Jungle: I was in Cape Cod when I first heard this Welcome to the Jungle, and Appetite for Destruction. It was an amazing time.
ReplyDeleteanthrax
ReplyDeleteGNR owned 1987, loved the over blown Still Of The Night though, the video was hair-tastic!
ReplyDeleteTough one.
ReplyDeleteI will take Still of the Night, then Welcome to the Jungle, then Indians.

P.S. Living near Cincinnati, the Cincy Bengals have adopted Welcome to the Jungle as their theme song. This song gets played hundreds if not thousands of times during the NFL season.
I'll have another Heavy Metal Jukebox out next week. I am still thinking over themes and possible bands.
ReplyDeleteummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.......God, that's going to take me all night to decide... NOT!!! (that's your hint as to my selection)
