There is nothing about either name that would make me want to listen to these bands. It's clear what they're going for in each case, but their lack of creativity in naming the band doesn't bode well for the music being very interesting.
I guess I'd go with Bravestaker, because I suspect Cosmic Haze is probably trying to be the kind of band I typically like which would make their failure all the more glaring.
Neither are great, but I prefer Bravestaker. Cosmic Haze sounds like they are trying too hard. Bravestaker isn't exactly smooth, but it's got a kind of horror/fantasy feel that appeals to me.
An interesting game might be to try and guess what kind of band each of these were just based on their name. I have never heard either band but I know these things.
-One is from Japan and one is from Germany. -One is a thrash band and one is just regular heavy metal. -Neither band is still around, but one was around in the early-mid 1990's while the other was around earlier this decade.
Is anyone brave enough to try and guess which of the above applies to Bravestaker and which is Cosmic Haze?

I'll take a guess:
ReplyDeleteBravestaker: German, metal, 00s
Cosmic Haze: Japanese, thrash, 90s
Cosmic Haze I guess. Even though it sounds like a Pink Floyd wannabe.
ReplyDeleteBob-Switch the countries and you have it.
ReplyDeleteBeckeye-Cosmic Haze sounds kind of forced I think.
neither.... I prefer Deathly Flatulence
