Clash of the album covers

I think that I had this one in mind for some time, but just now got around to it. So we have....

Judas Priest-Sin after Sin

vs.

Led Zeppelin-Physical Graffiti

***So which cover do you prefer?

  1. Definitely Physical Graffiti. The die-cut cover is cool and the cover alone is memorable even without the music. Sin After Sin looks like they may have been about to make a decent dark album cover when someone decided to paste those goofy figures in. I guess those are the "sinners," but they just look like they were thrown on the cover at the last minute.

  2. Sin After Sin, mainly because I despise almost everything Led Zeppelin ever did. :)

  3. Sean, do you just despise the album covers or the music? They had some great covers, but I can give you a pass on not liking them. If you despise the music though, I'll just have to assume that you're deaf.

  4. I'll go with Physical Graffiti. It's classic and yet it still holds up well. Priest is alright, but somehow it looks rather dated.

  5. Bob, their covers were just fine but I detest Robert Plant's voice with Zeppelin and have since as long as I can remember. On the musical side, I really didn't like them all that much either. Page is sloppy but Bonham and Jones are kings. I own a few of their albums, but they are only the last 2 they did when they started getting a little progressive in their songwriting.

And yes, I'm deaf. That's it. Man do I feel like a fool for buying all these CDs and basses when I can't even hear them.

  6. I have to go with Physical Graffiti. And it's my favorite Zep album, to boot.

Add me to the list of people giving this Sean fellow the "are you effing kidding" face. ;)

  7. I like both, but PG gets the nod over SAS bc of those "goofy figures," as Bob put it.

I see Sean's points--Plant is a richer vocalist now than in his squealing excesses early on in Zep, and Jimmy Page has always played sloppy. But to me, that's part of the raw appeal that worked for the group!

  9. But after Nostradamus, you'd have to be deaf to stay...
