I vote for neither. Photoshop has done such terrible things for album art.
bob-Were you going to add "they sure don't make 'em like they did in my day" ?I like when people drew, painted and took time with creative photos too. Like any form there are good and bad covers.I'll go with Heathen. Much more going on there.
That makes me sound so old and crotchety. I do think the ease of Photoshop doesn't force people into being creative though. Sometimes ease of use doesn't make things better.
I can sort of agree with your last line. I still it's a case by case judgement for me on covers.
I'm going to go against the grain and go for Avantasia. I like the pic more I guess. More went into it then some guys walking off a wall

Toughie, but I'm going to go with Heathens, just because it manages to make a statement--rather than just look neat.
