Gee whiz, why did you have to do this to me, but Van Halen is my favorite band so van Halen wins, I would have put Quiet Riot against Van AHlen because those two were bigger rivals in the club days, on one side is Randy Rhoads and Kevin Dubrow, on the other is Eddie Van Halen and David Lee Roth, man but the Crue I guess is fair game, they came out early on to be able to compete with VH.
Van Halen's weakest is still FAR better than Motley's weakest. I mean, seriously, Diver Down or F.U.C.K. versus Girls Girls Girls? No contest. Though I will say Carabi Crue beats Van Hagar.
I'll take 'em both. Copout? Yes, yes it is. It's like choosing between a cold draft beer, inside a mug straight from the freezer and a hot, brick oven pizza covered with extra cheese and pepperoni.
Van Halen. Hands down. Fair Warning is one of my favorite albums, ever.
ReplyDeleteBoth bands are awesome! I grew up with the CRUE! Very difficult choice.....hmmmm...I think Motley Crue \,,/ long live the crue!!!
ReplyDeleteHalen, no question or worry
ReplyDeleteLove the first two Crue albums, but not so much after that. For Van Halen I like the first six and not much after that. So Van Halen for sure.

ReplyDeleteVH.
ReplyDeleteI guess I'm in the minority with this one. But for me it's not even a contest.
ReplyDeleteMotley Crue has metal classics like:
"Too Young To Fall In Love", "Live Wire", "Piece Of Your Action", "Shout At The Devil", "Louder Than Hell"...
Van Halen has good songs like "Chained", "And The Cradle Will Rock", "Hot For Teacher"...
but Motley Crue wins without a doubt, if you ask me.
