Heavy Metal Thunderdome

Time again to match-up two highly thought of albums and see which you prefer based on the music. This time around it's two from the 80's and we'll see what are considered break through albums from half of the Big Four. Let's get ready for our heavyweight match-up.

In this corner we have hailing from New York those funny short wearing, mosh inducing goofballs on their third LP, it is.....

Two CLASSICS! MEGADETH wins. Now, as for the Metal heard within... I'm doing a Metal copout and saying: "tie". Both of these records aided in making me the Metalhead I am today.

That dude in the middle of "Among The Living" is creepy though.

  2. I DIG Anthrax, but if I had to choose only one for my collection, it'd be the Megadeth for sure! Sheer genius.

  3. I've got to go with Megadeth. That album was a lightning bolt in my teem youth. Among The Living was good but it never hit me emotionally like Megadeth did.

  4. Both great classics, although in my humble opinion, Megadeth edges it out. As a consolation, I saw both bands on these respective tours and Anthrax takes the live performance prize.

  5. Going to be int minority here, but honestly Peace sells hasn't aged that well to my ears. It's still good, but not the classic I though it was in 1986. Among the living on the other hand has aged better and there are no dull moments so Anthrax for me.

  8. Both great albums, but Megadeth hands-down. Gar's drumming alone, shit... And to Metalodyssey, that creepo on the Anthrax cover is from Poltergeist II.

  9. I like Among the Living. This would have been really close for me twenty years ago, but I agree with Mark that Peace Sells hasn't aged well. Among the Living still sounds pretty fresh.
