Here at Heavy Metal Time Machine we strive to bring you not only the best in well known heavy metal acts but also up and coming indie and local talent. Thurkills Vision was kind enough to suggest that I check out the website NEGB1. Site founder Jeff Royds e-mailed me and after talking it over with Mark we all found we share the same goal. We want to to bring more local metal to the attention of the public. Seeing as new bands are cropping up everyday sites like NEGB1 are working to market these acts on a grassroots effort. In the words of Jeff NEGB1 is "an all in one social networking site for the New England music scene. With Myspace,Facebook and Reverbnation being over run with spam, ads, national acts and even fictional characters it's hard to find great local music. NEGB1 makes it easy. Musicians, clubs, promoters, fans, indie record labels & radio stations can create their own profile and connect. The music scene has changed the way a local band promotes themselves. NEGB1 gives them the tools to it with personalized profiles, a 24/7 online radio station, concerts and our new web tv show "Behind the Scenes". If your a local musician, a fan or an industry pro looking for the next big thing then NEGB1 is the site for you". Featuring a variety of genres ranging from alternative rock to thrash the site also allows you the ability to download music directly from individual artists. What's nice about that is the fact that 100% of the profits go directly to the actual artist or group. There is no middle man taking a cut. In addition to Thurkills Vision (a group will be be snagged by some lucky record label sooner or later) there are lots of top notch metal bands for our regular readers to check out. Do yourself a big favor and check out the site (link bellow) and while your at it sign up. It's free and easy to do. We are hoping to be able to review more of the promising young acts associated with the site in the near future. Metal is on the rise again and it's up to everyday fan's such as you and I to support the next generation worth of bands. For all we know there could be another mega act just waiting to be discovered on the sites like this!
