I still think that 1984 was absolutely the best year ever fro hard rock and metal. Think about the albums that came out that year from the likes of Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Metallica, Van Halen, Dio, WASP, Dokken, Accept, Anthrax, Deep Purple and Whitesnake. That's just for starters. Not one to throw out easy match-ups I selected two albums from 1984 and remember with Heavy Metal Thunderdome judging which album you prefer based on the music. So let's get ready to rummmmmmble.
It's west coast vs east coast in this contest.
Hailing from LA on their first full length album it is those hard rockin' rodents.....
Ratt-Out of the cellar
and their opponents hail from the Big Apple, it is those ripped clothes wearing, painted face lunatics....
Twisted Sister-Stay Hungry
***So based on the music which album do you prefer?
Out Of The Celler is one of my first albums I got on tape! Awesome album from start to finish Mark. Classic cuts "Wanted Man", "You're In Trouble", "Round And Round", "Lack Of Communication" and "Back For More". Don't get me wrong I do like Stay Hungry but Out Of the Celler is the bomb.com (as my kids would say!).
ReplyDeleteI've also always thought that 1984 was an especially good year for excellent music.
ReplyDeleteAs for this match-up...it is quite difficult.
Two classics.
But with "I Wanna Rock", "We're Not Gonna Take It", "Burn In Hell", etc...I'll choose Stay Hungry---but it's close.
These were two of my favortie albums back then. Have to go with Twisted Sister because it's just a little better and I listen to it more even now.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely Twisted Sister for me too. Although it was a little before I was really into music.
ReplyDeleteCrud, two albums I love and I used to wake up many mornings as a teenager and play a side of Out of the Cellar while getting ready for school. Still going to take Twisted, though. Puh-pow.
ReplyDeleteOut of the Cellar!!!
