Melbourne, Australia instrumental band Heirs return with their second album Fowl. Following on the heels of their 2009 debut Alchera (which was hailed as one of the best post-metal albums of the year) Heirs offers up seven numbers of bleak and dark music that creates a sonic hurricane upon first listen. Never mind the odd cover choice. This is some delightfully dreary instrumental music. Mixing in elements of industrial, goth and post rock Heirs gives us another soundtrack for our nighttime woes. Very enjoyable.
