Self-Release
2012
Well, how about this little gem ladies and gents. The band formerly known as Bolero (and before that Dark Abyss from 2005 to 2007) has decided it's time for a name change. As of 2012 (yes, since the start of the new year it seems) the band has been going by the name Vesperia. Does that mean a change in tune as well? For this Ontario, Canada based band the answer seems to be the more things change the more they stay the same. At least style-wise that is! What it comes down to is that after years and years of "live shows, line-up changes and the constant shake-ups in the music industry" the four piece band felt the need to just do something else. As they say "a change in name and mentality". With the new name meaning "of the land of the evening star" it sure does not sound as if the band is going to abadon their roots. This is still viking-themed metal with pieces/parts of thrash, symphonic folk, black metal and celtic death. Vesperia's new EP (or demo if you will) is being streamed live as I type so if your a fan of the old band Bolero you have nothing to worry about. If you've never heard the band then why not check out their epic viking metal for yourself? "The Swordsman" can be streamed here.
