Music for a roadtrip

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Okay, let's say that tomorrow you have to go for an eight hour drive. You have to go alone and most of it will be on the interstates. The thing is you can only take four cd's with you. They can be any kind of music that you want, but you can't take any greatest hits. What four do you take?

Damn, this is a tough one. The metal/hard rock cd's I would take would be...

    Queensryche - Empire
    AC/DC - Powerage
    Metallica - Master of Puppets
    Badlands - Badlands

  3. LSD - Silent majority

    Savatage - Streets ... A Rock Opera

Metallica - Garage Days Inc. (Cover collection - don't know if it is valid)

Pink Floyd - The Wall (Not totally metal but hey... I can't see me without this)

Iron Maiden - Somewhere in Time

  4. Queensryche - Operation: Mindcrime
Dream Theater - Metropolis 2/Scenes From A Memory
    Testament - The Gathering
Children of Bodom - Hate Crew Deathroll

--that should pretty much cover both ends of the spectrum.

In reality, of course, I'd take mix-discs or just hook up my iPod - but for the spirit of the question, Im happy with those 4 choices.

    Kiss - Double Platinum

well, as shroud said, in reality I would just burn a couple of mixes or plug up my trusty iPod, but within your parameters:

Led Zeppelin-Disk 3 of the Box Set or if that isn't allowed, then probably Presence

    Black Sabbath-Heaven and Hell

    Metallica-Ride The Lightning

    Metallica-Master of Puppets

I would have two more laid back CDs for the beginning of the trip and two more thrashing CDs to keep me awake later in the trip :)

  7. Tom Petty - Damn the Torpedoes

    AC/DC - Highway to Hell

Van Halen - the first one

    and the toss-up between:
Pink Floyd - Momentary Lapse of Reason... or
Stevie Ray Vaughn - Couldn't Stand the Weather.

I would probably have to pick 4 greatest hit CD's so I could have more tracks. 4 is such a small number when you have hundreds to pick from. :)

I guess this would be mine:

    Ratt 81 - 91 Greatest Hits
Def Leppard - Rock of Ages
Motley Crue - Red White and Crue
Van Halen - Best of Van Halen Vol 1.

  20. Always a good question, and the answer changes day by day depending on mood. I need variety:

    GNR: Appetite for Destruction
Iron Maiden: The Number of the Beast
    Nine Inch Nails: The Fragile
    Steve Hackett: Spectral Mornings

  21. I've actually came close to having this situation before. This is a pretty one to do since it would change by next week and each thereafter, but I guess it'd go like this:

    Chicago - III
    Boris - Pink
    Iron Maiden - Powerslave
    Queensryche - Operation Mindcrime

Chuck, great pick on those Dwarfs!!!

  22. Testament kicks ass! I love that song.

As for me, I've been listening to Morbid Angel, Turbo Negro, Down, Deadboy and the Elephantmen, Lamb of God and my own newly recorded stuff (analyzing you know).
