Over/under
Time to play over/under again. I list two bands and for each band you say what you think is the most overrated track by each band and then the most underrated track. The bands this time around are....
Iron Maiden
Twisted Sister

15 Comments:
Iron Maiden:
Over: "Aces High." Great song, but I've never gotten into it as much as most of the rest of the album.
Under: "The Clairvoyant."
Twisted Sister:
Over: "We're Not Gonna Take It." Too easy.
Under: "The Price," a great rock song, even if not very metal.

Iron Maiden:
Over: Can't think of one
Under: Infinite Dreams
Twisted Sister:
Over: We're Not Gonna Take It
Under: Hot Love
Iron Maiden
Over- Stranger in a strangeland
Under-Quest for fire and Back in the village
Twisted Sister
Over- I wanna rock
Under-
Ride to live, Live to ride and Out on the streets
Iron Maiden:
Over-rated:Can I Play With Madness (Never liked the song)
Under-rated:Heaven Can Wait
Twisted Sister:
Over-rated:We're Not Gonna Take It
Under-rated:Burn In Hell
Iron Maiden:
Over - I'm with Axe Man...can't think of one
Underrated - For me, it is the entire Seventh Son album, but to pick one, I'll choose the title track
Twisted Sister:
Over - We're Not Gonna Take It.
Under - Under the Blade.
Since all of the Rocklahoma hoopla, I have been listening to a lot of Twisted Sister as of late.
Twisted Sister
Over:Were Not Gonna Take It. I like this song, but there are far better ones in the TS catalog
Under:Burn in Hell. I get a charge out of this song every time I listen to it. Great!
Iron Maiden
Over: Bring Your Daughter To the Slaugher
Under:Rime of the Ancient Mariner. 13 minutes of blisteringly good Heavy Metal.

I don't think I can play, considering I've probably only heard 2 songs by each band. So, I'll just say that Bruce Dickinson is really good looking these days, as opposed to his dirty '80s look.
No one put Leader of the pack as underrated? Just kidding.
Iron Maiden:
over - Bring Your Daughter to the Slaughter
under - Quest for Fire
In all honesty, I think Twisted Sister has been treated pretty fairly, but I don't spend much time with the early albums so I might be missing a few gems.
Iron Maiden :
Over = Aces High
Under = Back in the Village
TS :
Over = I wanna rock
Under = Burn in Hell
I remember being 14 and sitting in my room listen to the Stay Hungry cassette on a tiny Radio Shack boom box. When Burn in hell came on I would turn it down lown and pull the player close to me because my parents would have had a fit if they had heard that song.
Iron Maiden
Over: Heaven Can Wait
Under: Fash of the Blade
Twisted Sister
Over: I Wanna Rock
Under: Burn in Hell
Iron Maiden:
Over: Bring Your Daughter to the Slaughter. I laughed the first time I heard it, then immediately turned off the disc, ashamed that one of my favorite bands had sunk to such depths. I've never understood why people don't realize how bad the song actually is.
Under: Hard to pick one, but I'll say The Prisoner. It's always been a personal favorite, but it seems to always get passed over for 22 Acacia Avenue (which is a great song in its own right).
I never cared enough about TS to list an over or under, but I do think Dee Snider is one of the most underrated spokesmen against rock censorship.
Several people put down Bring you daughter to the slaughter. I certainly think it was an awful song. However I didn't list it as overrated because I didn't think anyone liked it except Bruce Dickinson.
Good God, man, tough choices!
Iron Maiden over: "Bring Your Daughter to the Slaughter" (though the Brits ate that shit up as a # 1 single in the UK)
Maiden under: "Badlands"
TS overrated: this one's easier than David's: "Leader of the Pack"
TS under: I agree on "The Price." Terrific song that ended up being Twisted's prophecy
