how about Metallica, Anthrax, Metal Church, Exodus, Testament or Overkill, those six along with Megadeth and Slayer are my top 8 thrash bands, Pantera would be up there but I consider more of a groove metal and they started as a hair band which is another perios d of them I enjoy; anyways I vote for Megadeth.
