Hellyeah-"War In Me" Single

Eleven Seven Music
2012

If it wasn't for Vinnie Paul being the drummer of Hellyeah I highly doubt anyone in their right mind would have given their self-titled debut a listen. Even with Vinnie Paul involved in this so called "super group" the end result was watered down hard rock with about as much credibility as Celine Dion covering AC/DC. When you have the lead screamer of mallcore/crap metal act Mudvanye fronting your band you deserve to be ridiculed folks. So how is it then that the new single, "War In Me" sounds more like Pantera than half-baked hard rock? Supposedly the new material on the forthcoming "Band of Brothers" is heavier and more "metal-oriented" in nature. Take that for what its worth I suppose. I'm not saying "War In Me" is as good as Pantera was but it is certainly better than the limp wrist style hard rock of Hellyeah's previous works. When I heard this cut I had to do a double take to make sure it really was Hellyeah. Color me surprised folks as this does not suck eggs. Maybe their is hope for this post-Pantera outfit after all.
