I'll go with Exciter. Just for the naked chick. ;-)

I'll go with Dio. Both are stupid, but Dio is stupid in a funny way.

the exciter is a cooler cover.

Exciter definitely. I could take the Dio one easier if the wolves didn't look so goofy.

Are you saying that you can take the Exciter cover seriously?

Bob-The lack of slobbering hounds helps the Exciter cover.

The lack of misogynistic art helps Dio.

So far it looks like you are on your own in that opinion. At least in this case.

Yeah, I'm kinda used to that.

Hey, wait aren't you the guy with a Ratt mirror hanging in your living room? Oh, no that was my dream.

Being worried about some misogynistic art in a 80s metal album cover makes no sense at all. If we're going to take this kind of stuff seriously, then it's better to burn all the records of that era. After all, they were full of violence glorification, satanism, sexism, songs about fast cars (not good for the environment), necrophilia, you name it. Curiously, metal was so much more fun in those days...

Lighten up there Luiz. While the misogynistic covers are dumb (much like a lot of the non-misogynistic covers), I'm not quite ready to throw them into the fire (though in many cases it may be merited). I was merely pointing out that the Exciter cover had something every bit as dumb as Dio's slobbering hounds.

No worries, man :-)

Someone once said that good taste is pop music's greatest enemy. I wholeheartedly agree.

I think there's truth to that so long as we don't just assume that bad taste is its friend. Both covers show bad taste, but in a friendly manner.

I think of it as more just cheese than bad taste, but that may just be me.

"There's a fine line between clever and stupid." The same may go for cheese and bad taste.

I think that it's more just in the eye of the beholder. Exciter's previous efforts were all modern and involved knives yet they suddenly stuck on a fantasy cover. Although they did have some fantasy topics. Dio's is more in keeping with the band's previous covers which were fantasy/horror type stuff.

EXCITER - because I saw them right when this album came out. They were opening for Motorhead and Mercyful Fate in 1984. YEAH!

You should do the new Toxic Holocaust "An Overdose of Death" cover vs The Rods "Wild Dogs."
