Here, borrow my time machine
Okay you get to go back to the 1980's to see any one concert that you want to. What is it?
I will choose the 1988 Monsters of rock at Donington. The line-up was this:
Helloween
Guns ands Roses
Megadeth
David Lee Roth
Kiss
Iron Maiden

Pink Floyd on the Momentary Lapse of Reason tour in 1987.
I would have liked to have seen Celtic Frost in the 80s. My other choice would be Candlemass. I've never seen either of these bands live and they are two of my favorites.
Yours is hard to pass up, Mark. That many bands that were -- if not at their peak -- close enough to it to be one hell of a show.
If I had to see only one band/one show, I would either choose Van Halen circq 1980, Rush circa 1981, or Maiden circa 1983.

Any Rush concert, since I've never seen them live. And I had tix to see VH in VA Beach in 83, I think, but couldn't get down there. I wish I had...
I would have to choose Iron Maiden at Hammersmith in March of 1982. To see that line up in a full set would be awesome.
All good choices. If I couldn't pick a festival then I would pick one the follining. Either the bill of Armored Saint/WASP/Metallica that toured in early 1985, Iron Maiden on the World Slavery tour with Accept as the opener, Van Halen on the 1984 tour or Slayer on the Reign in blood tour with overkill as the opener.
I would have liked to see Guns 'n Roses in their prime - maybe with Skid Row, because I do love Sebastian Bach.
Mark, I'd been wondering if you've been watching Rockstar: Supernova or if you have any thoughts on it. If you've blogged about it before, I apologize for making you repeat yourself.
Will-I don't have cable so I have not seen it. It I had cable then I probably would watch it.
Mark, it's not on cable; it's on CBS, so if you can pick up your local affiliate, you can watch it.
Bruce-I didn't know that or else I would have been watching. I have the kids on Tuesday and Wednesday nights while my wife works. Some times it's just hard to concentrate on a show though when I have the kids by myself. I tend to be in between folding laundry, feeding the baby and doing crafts and reading to the two year old. I watcha lot of dvds and other than football and cartoons on PBS for my daughter, I don't watch much tv anyomre.
Rockstar is not a bad show. My wife and I watch it also. The only thing is that I'm not impressed with the two original songs that they've played so far.
1. Tiger Stadium 1996 - Opening night of the KISS Reunion Tour
2. Monsters Of Rock '88
3. US Festival May 29th, 1983:
Quiet Riot [12:10 - 12:50 pm]
Motley Crue [1:20 - 2:20]
Ozzy Osbourne [2:50 - 4:00]
Judas Priest [4:30 - 5:40]
Triumph [6:10 - 7:20]
Scorpions [7:55 - 9:10]
Van Halen [10:00 - midnight]
I was at that Donington Festival!!
The best one was in '84 though, AC/DC, Van Halen, Ozzy, Motley Crue, Y&T
Awesome show!
Rob-Welcome. That 88 show must have been great.
