Do you care?

Using a number system from 1-10 with "1" being I could care less to "10" being I am very excited, rate these upcoming releases as to how excited you are about them.

*If you have already heard the new Maiden then just rate it going by how you felt before you heard it.

Iron Maiden-A Matter 0f life and death
Mastodon- Blood Mountain
Black Label Society-Shot to hell
Megadeth- United Abominations
Metallica-(the album that will probably be out next year)
Guns and Roses-Chinese Democracy (pretend it is due to come out)

*Bonus*
Pick any upcoming album that you would rate at least an "8" and tell us what it is.

I will say:

Iron Maiden-10
Mastodon-8
BLS-5
Megadeth-5 (It just seems like Dave is more interested in Gigantour than in recording a good album)
Metallica-6 (I am trying to be hopeful)
G-n-R- 2

*Bonus
The next Fu Manchu album would be an 8. I think it has been recorded, but no word on a release date.
The new Trouble album would be an 8 and it was originally supposed to be out last week, but I don't think it has come out yet.
The new Tigertailz (due out Tuesday) is and 8 as well. However it's going for more than $20 because it's an import so I won't be buying it anytime soon.

Iron Maiden - 9
Mastodon - 10
BLS - 8 (I reviewed the new DVD, which is great, so I'm hopeful for the next album

Megadeth - 7
Metallica - 2 (I abandoned hope ages ago)
GNR - 0 (to hell with Axl Grease - if he's going to spend his time at a basketball game when he's supposed to be performing, he's lost to me as he should to the rest of his fans he's disgraced)

Bonus:

Isis - In the Absence of Truth - 10 - this just may win album of the year from me

I too am looking forward to the new Fu album so I'll call that an 8 too

Maiden - 2
Mastodon - 1
BLS - 2
Megadeth - 4
Metallica - 7 (Hoping as well as you are)
GnR - 5 (Out of curiosity)

Bonus

The next Mars Volta album "Amputechture" would get a 10. To say their past two albums were phenomenal would be an understatement. Their second album "Frances the Mute" topped their debut and I'm hoping this new coming one will top that.

P.S. - I'm not a big metal fan, so that's the reason for the low ratings for most of the CD's.

My only one ranking above an 8 is Maiden. And that's a 10.

The only other album I'm rank that high is the new Rush album, still in progress and reportedly due out early in 2007.

Iron Maiden - 10 (always fired up for Maiden)

Mastodon - 7 (I heard two tracks off this and they sound great. The guitar work was insane!)

BLS - 1

Megadeth - 4 (I'm with you on this one. The new album is called United Abominations. I've seen the cover and it looks like a 3rd grader drew it).

Metallica - 4 (This one would have to be really great for me to buy it. I would want to hear it first. These is a video on YouTube of them playing a new song and it does not bode well)

G-N-R: 2 (Can this really be considered a GNR album if only Axl is left. If the original band would reform, I would put that release at a 9)

Bonus

Fu Manchu: 9 (I love these guys!)
Trouble: 7
Tigertailz: 1

Ray-I just can't get excited about Megadeth at this point.

Jeff-Most of say we don't care about Axl and his album, but I think a lot of people would be very curious if this were to come out soon.

Mule-I don't think that I have heard anything from Napalm Death in like 12 years.

David-I would be interested in the new Rush too, but I had not heard anything about a release date.

Fred-You can pick anyone you want for the bonus. I didn't expect anyone but myself to be interested in the new Tigertailz.

The new Trouble was reported by Blabbermouth to be set for release in late August. However there was no follow-up, no info at the label site, no info at Trouble's site either. So who knows? Same with the supposed re-releases of their stuff too and all of their albums are currently out of print. This was originally one of the albums I was most looking forward to this year because it was originally going to be out as early as March.

Iced Earth Live in Athens DVD: 10 (This was just announced! It's the video footage from the live CDs they put out a few years back with Matt Barlow).

Fred-I like Boris. However, I bought Sunn's Black one and I have tried three times to listen to it and just don't get it. It sounds like a warped tape with the wind blowing in the background. Then again I really couldn't make it through a single song. Maybe I will keep trying though.

Steve- I may be interested in the Krokus cd, but I probably won't be rushing to buy it.

Ahhh, Sunn. A band that I really like but can't explain why I like them. The first Sunn record I picked up was White 1. I was so pissed off when I heard it because I felt like I got ripped off. Now I like them and I can't explain why. I think Sunn is best listened to as background music. Just put it on while you are doing something else.

Fred-Maybe that's it, I having been trying to concentrate on like I am trying the find something and it's not happening. I bought a disc last year from this band YOB and couldn't get into it after several tries. Then I had it going while I was cleaning and it clicked with me then. It was slow and flowing, but it came to me when I wasn't trying just to concentrate on it.

Fred-I think they broke up shortly after the last album because they never got to tour. I think the singer has a new band, but I can't recall their name. They are very slow and dreamy at times, but almost a bit more mechanical than other doom/stoner bands.

Sunn O))) is an experience live...nothing but solid fog with huge reverb through the whole thing. I've never had so much trouble breathing at a gig before. Greg Anderson's a cool guy and he used one of my photos from their gig in Baltimore for their European tour t-shirts and they sent me a couple...that's definitely a memorable show experience because they duck into the fog most of the time and pop out very randomly...it was the toughest photo shoot I've ever done but the t-shirt was one thing; CMJ used another photo for one of their writers...kinda cool credit...

I guess no one really care about BLS but the promo just came to me yesterday with the new Lamb of God and Unearth (they're late this time, lol) and some band called Kottak that features Tommy Lee's sister and someone notable from the eighties metal scene that I forget

Yeah, I'm a sucker for the last Megadeth album, and I know Mustaine has recorded his parts and is awaiting his band to come in and finish up, which is a very weird way to do business, but we'll see
