What's coming up?

I have been enjoying the nice weather lately and trying to get the kids out. It amazing how much better you feel when the weather is nice. I still chopping away at reviews and I have a pile I need to get at this week so here they are.

Reviews of...
Glamnation vol.3
For Friday-Ekklesia
Hail of bullets-...Of frost and war
Midnite Club-Circus of life
Century-Black Ocean
Zero Hour-Dark Deceiver
American Speedway-Ship of fools

Interviews with...
Mark Farner
Real Steel

plus...
Judge the album cover and maybe that picture of my old back patch.

Here are three quick reviews of some oldies that I picked up on eBay recently.

Bang Tango-Psycho Cafe
The only one of these three that I had heard before. Just as good as it was 19 years ago, maybe even better because it has stood the test of time. I think they were of the few glam bands to emerge during the late 80's early 90's that were really doing something worthwhile.

Asphalt Ballet- I remember the ad, but never heard it back then because there was so much coming out. It's got a definite to G-n-R sound to many of the tracks yet not as much personality. The medium songs work alright and the slow songs struggle like they are completely uncomfortable with doing them, but felt they had to. The album is slightly above average, but nothing special.

Roxy Blue-Want some?
I remember the local radio station playing a song from this in like spring of 1992. This album might actually fool some people in to believing it is something just due to the spectacular production and the way some of the songs just spring into action. However the truth is these guys rip off everyone from Van Halen down to Warrant in an attempt to establish I don't know what. Definitely not themselves because they don't bring any ideas of their own, they just mash together the sounds of other artists. Yes, that can work at times if the band has some genuine fire like say Bullet Boys or Rhino Bucket. Roxy Blue come across as a last minute attempt by Geffen to get a few bucks out of the hair metal ship before it completely went under.

***Have a great week!
