He still is what made Deep Purple to me
Nice to see Ritchie up so high on the list. A lot of people tend to overlook him.
I've been listening to Deep Purple's BBC concert from 1972 a lot lately. The whole band is incredible, but Ritchie really kicks ass on it.
Does he lose points for Blackmore's Night though? That's the only fault I find. He did amazing stuff with Deep Purple and Rainbow, but the BN stuff is pretty unforgivable.
He doesn't lose points for doing Night. It's bad, but Deep Purple and those early Rainbow albums make up for it.
He doesn't lose points if you don't listen to any music made after 1982.
