The re-naming game

Have you ever had an album where you thought that the album title didn't quite fit the album? Well, here is your chance to set things straight or at least write it down here. So pick an album whose title you don't agree with and give it a name that you think is more appropriate.

Megadeth-So far, so good, so what?
It's just too much of a mouthful. I like title tracks so I like "Set the world afire" as the album title. Although this album certainly didn't set the music world afire.

AC/DC-Blow up your video
The band's worst album with their worst title. I think "Meanstreak" would be a better title although "Brownstreak" is more representative of what I think of this album.

Okay, so are there any good albums where a better album title could be picked?

Ratt-Dancing Undercover
One of my favorite Ratt albums, and although they were never the heaviest band in the world the title sounds a little too much like a pop album for me. None of the song titles sound like good album titles so I like something like "Into the city". I think it follows as a next step to"Out of the cellar" and "Invasion of your privacy". I am probably the only person that thinks that though.

WASP-Helldorado
Not their finest moment, but a decent album. I like "Can't die tonight" better than "Helldorado". I think the album title they chose sounds like a joke like a Raging Slab album title or something.

Scorpions-Face the heat
Not a horrible album title, but maybe a bit generic. I like "Under the same sun" as a title. It sounds a little more direct and unique to me.

Okay, now is there an album title you would change and what would you change it to?

I can't think of re-titles but two I think are pretty lame.

Rush - Power Windows (and the cover isn't great IMO)

Deep Purple - Come Taste The Band (wtf ?)

One of my favourite album titles..

The Hoodoo Gurus - Mars Needs Guitars !
It's a great album too.

hmm...hard to say, maybe St. Anger by Metallica could have been renamed "Crap"

I liked So Far, So Good, So What? when it came out but as time wore on, I started to realize how much filler is on that record. I think it was recorded in a herion haze.

Great post. I agree 100% on Ratt. Perhaps "7th Avenue" would have worked, it has a nice sound to it.

Ben: I actually do like the title "Power Windows," but not the cover art or most of the music on the album.

Other albums with names I don't love:

1. Tesla, The Great Radio Controversy (should have been called Heaven's Trail or Rain on My Parade)
2. Rush, Roll the Bones (should have been called Pay the Price)
3. GNR, Use Your Illusion (should have been called Before We Die)

Ben-I agree about both of the album title you mentioned.

T-bone-I actually was very disappointed when "And justice for all" came out and I referred to it as "An injustice for us all" for several years.

Fred-I think that Megadeth album is half decent and half not.It is far better than stuff like Risk and The world needs a hero though.

Ooops, two more comments came in before I posted my response.

Jose-Good call. Rocka Rolla is really silly. I like the RCA cover with the creature better than Coca Cola thing, but the title is still poor.

David-7th Avenue is not a bad name.
My thought on the cover of Power Windows is what's the point of showing some shirtless, skinny dude sitting around in his pajama pants?
I like your suggestions about Rush and G-n-R, but I like the Tesla title. Bust a nut is the one title of theirs I wasn't big on. Sounds more like a glam title.

I like about half of that album too. Half of it is filler. I love Hook in Mouth though. I think it's their angriest sounding song. That's something the new Megadeth albums lack..the anger and spite. Dave is too touchy feely now, lol.

Fred-The last Megadeth album sounded a mish-mash of previous albums, but it's didn't really gel. I saw them open for Judas Priest in 1990 and they opened with Hook in mouth and they were amazing. I saw Anthrax, Megadeth and Metallica all around their prime and Megadeth were the best of the three. I think the line-up with Menza and Friedman was the best line-up they ever had. I liked Chris Poland almost as much as Marty, but Nick Menza added a lot to that band.
