Dokken-Under Lock and Key. When I fist heard Dokken I wrote them off. I tossed them in the same pile as Trixter and Nitro without really ever giving them a chance. Now I really enjoy the first couple of Dokken albums especially this one even though it is commercial.
Van Halen-5150. This was my first Van Halen album and I played it to death. Now I look back and say what was the appeal? Their are more keyboards on this album than guitars!
Ratt-Out Of The Celler. All around great hard rock album. Even though I have heard each and every track a billion times over I still have a soft spot for this one.

Cinderella "Long Cold Winter".
>80's hard rock/metal album that you think isn't as good as it was the first time
Savatage "Fight For The Rock".
(They have some excellent albums...but this one isn't as good as I originally thought of it.)

There are so many!
For example:
Ozzy Osbourne "Blizzard Of Ozz"
