The Sultans-More House Rockin' and Other Boogies
Ektro
2014
I was just a young lad with a new job and a new wife (in that order) when The Sultans first took their blues-based minimalist boogie to the airwaves via Rock and Roll Radio*. That was 1995 and The Sultans, who hail from Tornio River, Lower Delta and is made up of the ÄijÄlÄ brothers & Lene Leinonen, outlasted both of those events! Now we have Ektro releasing this career-spanning compilation album and the world is a much better place because of it! "More House Rockin' and Other Boogies" is studio and live tracks and it is crammed (and I mean CRAMMED!!!!) full of good times! Rock, blues and boogie (garage-style) is what you can expect and if a compilation such as this doesn't get you up and off your feet and dancing around like you just don't care then you're even more grey-haired, old and crotchety then this reviewer! And that wouldn't, couldn't or shouldn't be the case friends!
*"Do You Remember Rock 'n' Roll Radio?" by the Ramones reference point kiddos! Why? Simply because The Sultans have that same kind of care-free/live it like you love it (and don't you dare ever stop 'til you dead-end drop!) vibe running the length of this excellent comp! And it's all groovy ladies and gents....all groovy!
