Twice as bad

Tate-1-300x200

I usually try to look at the bright side of life and make it through. Some times a story so tragic and disturbing comes up that it changes that mood. Thus was the case when I found out about the possibility of there being two Queensryches. No, I am not upset that Geoff Tate is splitting from the rest of the band. I am mad at the fact that their badness is spreading into two  terrible entities now just like Great White, LA Guns and other desperate hasbeens/neverwheres who are trying to squeeze a buck out of aging fans with too much money and not enough taste. Their early stuff was decent, but like a number of other older acts they ran out of ideas quickly, but didn't let that stop them from assaulting our ears with sorry excuses for music.
These acts will keep bumbling along pulling their creaky bodies up on stage unless people just say "no" and don't buy their crappy albums and don't pay to see them live either. If you like their old material then listen to that. It really is that simple, it's we the fans who keep these poor excuse for bands going by continuing to notice them. Then again I guess I am guilty for spending time and blog space on these shenanigns too. So I'll stop andstep down off my soap box.

I don't even think we can hope that this double negative results in a positive.

The only Queensryche I can tolerate is the first EP and that is only because it was more power metal then anything. Tate is overrated pure and simple. Great White and LA Guns each (in my opinion at least) had a handful of decent tracks, but should just have called it quits in the 90s or earlier.

Creaky bodies? Hey man, adversity has made Geoff Tate stronger. That and Gold's Gym. There ain't no creak in his body, because he's STRONG.

Bob-One of my main thoughts about this event reminded me of this Seinfeld quote-"That's not going to be good for anybody".

Andy-I like the EP and the Warning. Tate had some talent, but he never progressed even though his ego has gotten out of control.

Chuck-I wonder if Tate is still wearing the same Gold's Gym shirt he was wearing in 1990?
