R.I.P. Cory Smoot

GWAR bandmate Cory Smoot, AKA Flattus Maximus was sadly found dead on Thursday, November 3rd, 2011 at the age of 34. Out of respect for Smoot the band will be retire the Flattus Maximus character in his honor. As a teenager GWAR's album Scumdogs Of The Universe found a special place in my heart. As one of the first heavy metal bands to take on costumes and theatrics GWAR became bigger than the actual musicians who played the parts. But, we should remember that underneath all the rubber and make-up were human beings of flesh and blood who played for the love of it all. Cory Smoot is survived by his wife, Jamie who lost an incredible musician and man.
